On October 1, 2019, the brand new Order of Malta Hospitality and First Aid Center opened on the grounds of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. Located just a short walk from the Chapel in Mother of Mercy Hall, the center will care for pilgrims visiting the Wisconsin Shrine.
Members of the Order of Malta were happy to volunteer as medical professionals and hospitality personnel during the National Novena to Our Lady of Good Help on October 1-9. This Novena marked the historic 160th Anniversary of Mary’s appearance to Adele Brise in present-day Champion.
During the heaviest days of pilgrimage attendance each year, such as October’s Novena, medical professionals and hospitality personnel from the Order will be onsite to provide first aid assistance and, in keeping with the Order’s charism over more than nine centuries as the Order of Hospitallers, and offer hospitality and promote the spiritual and physical welfare of pilgrims at the Shrine.
