The Northeast Florida Area once again responded to the call to assist with the Diocese of St. Augustine’s annual Feast of St. James Mass and Procession. The Procession carries a sacred image of St. James the Greater from the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, through the streets of America’s oldest city, to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine.

The Procession is led by Bishop Eric Pohlmeier, who also offers Mass at the Cathedral.  Knights and Dames serve as Marshalls of the Procession, and join the liturgical procession for Mass. The celebration observes the close ancient historical and cultural ties between St. Augustine and Spain.

For the American Association, it recognizes the partnership of the Baby Steps Camino in North Florida with the Camino De Santiago in Spain.
