On Saturday, August 1, Knights and Dames of the Philadelphia Area gathered for their monthly Saturday Salve Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Father Matthew Phelan, O. de M., pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Overbrook, served as principal celebrant, with Father Justin Freeman, O. de M., parochial vicar, concelebrating.

Following Mass, members and guests enjoyed breakfast at Ivy Hall, home of the International Institute for Culture. The gathering continued with a business meeting focused on upcoming activities and events planned for August, September, and October, highlighting a busy and active season ahead for the Area.

The meeting concluded with the Prayer of the Order and the new Service Prayer before members joined together in meal preparation for homebound individuals and others served through local ministries. Participants also looked ahead to several upcoming opportunities for prayer and fellowship, including celebrations for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and the anticipated visit of the relics of Saint Bernadette.

It was a meaningful day of worship, service, and preparation for the many activities to come in the months ahead.
