XXXIII Lourdes Pilgrimage 2018
Malades-In-Spirit Program

Each year, we bring our Malades-In-Spirit with us to Lourdes in our hearts, including them in our daily prayers, acts of worship and devotion, and remembering them and their intentions during Mass at the Grotto.  We invite our members to suggest a homebound, physically or mentally challenged or ill person whom you would otherwise consider proposing as a traveling Malade but who is unable to make the pilgrimage to Lourdes itself, for inclusion in this program.

Malades-In-Spirit (MIS) are assigned either to individuals or to small groups of pilgrims in Lourdes so that the Malade at home benefits from the spiritual graces and blessings received by their prayer companions on the pilgrimage.  The bond that develops with some of these MIS and their spiritual partners can become as strong as that among pilgrims themselves.  Moreover, this program brings the message of Lourdes to people who may never be able to travel there and/or who may know little or nothing about the wonders of that special place of healing and hope.

This special program is intended for those who are the most seriously ill among us. If you have a candidate for the MIS program, please speak to that person first; if the person wants to be included in the program, please complete the Malades-In-Spirit form below by Friday, April 20, 2018.
