Sacramental Care for the Sick

08/02/2016

This essay is the fifth in the series and the second essay of 2016 of the Chaplains’ Educational Essays. “Sacramental Care for the Sick” was written by Father David V. Skoblow, a Magistral Chaplain and parochial vicar at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords, NJ.

For a member of the Order of Malta, caring for the sick is an integral part of your own spiritual life; Father Skoblow helps us focus on a critical component of that care – the spiritual lives of those for whom we care. He highlights the critical elements of sacramental care for the sick (some of which require a priest) and shares important insight into other elements of spiritual care for the sick and the dying with which any Catholic can assist.
