Seventeen New Jersey Knights, Dames and Volunteers convene monthly in the basement of Christ the King Church in New Vernon, New Jersey to fill 240 – 280 food backpacks for three- to four-year-old children who live in the inner-city of Paterson, New Jersey. The father of a former malade, who donates his services as a way to give back, transports the filled backpacks to their destination point—a Catholic Charities day care facility—where they are distributed at the end of every month when food stamps tend to run out, and children often go hungry.
