Members of the Northeast Florida Area were invited by Bishop Felipe Estevez to join in celebrating the elevation of the first and oldest Marian Shrine in the U.S. and Canada to National Shrine status by the USCCB. This beautiful celebration was held on the Feast of Our Lady of La Leche, on Friday October 11.
Our Lady of La Leche National Shrine at Mission Nombre de Dios, a second home to the Northeast Florida Area, is now the oldest Marian Shrine, and the Newest National Shrine in America. What a blessing it is to have this recognition. This is the destination of the Area’s annual Baby Steps Camino, three-day beach walking Pilgrimage in December.
