The Boston Area hosted a live Palliative Care webinar on Tuesday, May 26th that addressed what palliative care is, the importance of advance care planning, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic, and how the Catholic Church teaching supports both.

Members were joined by President Peter Kelly, MD, GCM and Donna Coletti, MD, DM, chair of the American Association’s new Palliative Care Committee. This live webinar, hosted by Diane McCarthy from the Archdiocese of Boston, was well attended and received excellent feedback.

The following evening, Cardinal Sean O’Malley lead Boston members in a conference call prayer service for Evening Prayer, with Jim Brett, KM, and Pattie Brett, DM serving as readers. Nancy Gibson, DM, completed making all the pen pal match ups for the new pen pal program with residents at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville, MA.
