The Northeast Florida Area was blessed with a prayerful and poignant Morning of Recollection presented by Father Anthony Hamaty on Saturday, August 29. We assembled at St. Ephrem Syriac Catholic Church for Morning Prayer, followed by two thoughtful reflections by Fr. Anthony.
Mid-morning, we proceeded to the Church for Adoration, Rosary, and Confession, before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the Memorial of the Passion of our Patron St. John the Baptist. Particularly moving, Fr. Anthony blessed his new chalice, our Area’s ordination gift to him, for use in this Mass for the first time. His homily challenged us to show our zeal for Christ to the world.
It is a true joy to gather in these times to renew our vocational commitment to Defense of the Faith and service to the sick. Thanks to all who participated; prayers for all who could not. Saint John the Baptist, pray for us.
