The Northeast Florida Area celebrated the Feast Day of St. John the Baptist with Mass and lunch at historic and beautiful locations in St. Augustine.
Mass was celebrated at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, at Mission Nombre De Dios. This is the oldest Marian Shrine in America; it was established over 450 years ago. It receives pilgrims from all over the world who come to pray for fertility, the health of the unborn, and a safe delivery for both mother and child. Our Lady of La Leche has been granted a Canonical Coronation by the Holy See, this coming October! Knights, Dames, and Associates enjoyed an inspiring homily by our chaplain, Deacon Larry Geinosky, ChDD.
After Mass, members dined at the Columbia Restaurant, Florida’s oldest restaurant established in 1905 by a Cuban immigrant. The beautiful architecture celebrates both Cuban and Spanish cultures. The group enjoyed a lovely lunch and conversation.
Many upcoming plans were discussed as well as ongoing ways to provide assistance to those in need. It was a feast day to be remembered! St. John the Baptist, pray for us!
