On Monday, June 28th, more than 50 members of the NYC and Westchester Areas gathered for Mass in celebration of the Feast of the Solemnity of the Birth of St. John the Baptist.

The Mass, held in the chapel at the Mary Manning Walsh Residence where some of our members volunteer, was celebrated Bishop Edmund Whalen, who graciously stepped in for Bishop John O’Hara, ChC, who was originally scheduled to celebrate the Mass.

Also participating in the Mass were American Association chapains Msgr. Douglas Mathers, Fr. Joseph Cavoto, OFM, and Fr. Gerry Murray, as well as Fr. John Anderson, head of pastoral care for Archcare, operator of the NY Archdiocesan healthcare system.

Following Mass, a reception was held upstairs on the terrace overlooking York Avenue…..although given the heat, most stayed indoors to enjoy the air conditioning.
