On Saturday, March 19th, a group of New York – NYC Area candidates in their year of formation gathered at the home of Rory & Camille Kelleher, Area Membership Co-chairs, to make sandwiches.

The group made and wrapped 80 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and 20 turkey and cheese sandwiches. After the sandwiches were made, brown bag meals were assembled to include not only a sandwich, but also a carton of juice, a protein bar and an orange. The brown bags were then delivered to the nearby NY Common Pantry for distribution to the homeless and poor over the weekend when the Pantry does not offer hot meals.

The Brown Bag project was deemed a success….and fun. Another event will be put on the Area calendar for the fall.
