The NYC Area held its annual Mass in honor of the Feast of the Birth of St. John the Baptist on Thursday June 23rd. According to the 2022 liturgical calendar, because the Feast of the Sacred Heart always falls on the Friday after Corpus Christi, the celebration of St. John the Baptist’s feast day, normally on June 24th, was advanced a day and celebrated on June 23rd.
Mass was celebrated by Bishop Edmond Whalen, newly appointed chaplain for the NYC Area, in the chapel of the Mary Manning Walsh Residence of Archcare. Fr. John Anderson, I.V.Dei, of Archcare concelebrated. About 50 Knights and Dames of the NYC and Westchester Areas attended, including a number of newly admitted members anticipating investiture in November. A number of prospective candidates for membership in 2023 were also in attendance.
Many thanks to Scott LaRue, KM and CEO of Archcare, and his staff for hosting a lovely reception after Mass.
