The Feast Day of Our Lady of Philermo and the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was a special day for the Northeast Florida Area. Since Community Cenacolo relies completely on providence, our project was to bring food to the St. Maria Goretti house of women. Each Dame or Associate brought a recipe and all the ingredients necessary for the women of this house to make that meal in the future.

Our group also provided lunch and cake to celebrate the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary and two women of this house who share this special birthday. As a gift, we presented them with scarves inscribed with the “Hail Mary Prayer”. The Cenacolo women wrote a song and sang it to our group to thank us for our providence and hospitality.

The day concluded in the chapel praying the rosary and singing together. Our project for the Feast of Our Lady of Philermo was so well received that we are planning future work days and other activities within the structure of the Cenacolo Community. Our Lady of Philermo, pray for us!
