On Sunday, December 11th, about 35 Members and Year of Formation candidates from the New York City Area helped bring Christmas cheer to some of the residents of the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center.
The team served soft drinks and desserts to guests while they enjoyed live Christmas music. Volunteers were even seen dancing in the aisles with some of the guests. As always, the highlight of the party was the arrival of Santa (aka John Ottosen, KM)
Before the party, a small group of elves gathered to wrapped gifts for the residents. Gift bags included Order of Malta blankets along with toiletries and were ready to be distributed by Santa when he arrived.
Already in a festive mood, members moved down a few blocks to the Kelleher home where, after a 2 year Covid break, the annual NYC Area Christmas party was held again this year. The festivities included the singing of Christmas Carols, led by Sal Basile of St. Patrick’s Cathedral choir, and raising funds for the Area’s projects.
