On Sunday, August 20th, members of the Scranton Area gathered together to pack 100 backpacks for the Outreach – Center for Community Resources in Scranton. This Center offers a variety of programs that promote family stability and economic self-sufficiency.
These backpacks will be given to people in the Center’s program who are leaving prison. Each backpack has a towel, washcloth, brush, shampoo, deodorant, nail clipper, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, pen, spiral notebook, laundry detergent sheets, the Order of Malta daily prayer card for justice and mercy, and a Welcome Home card from our Scranton Area Members.
A special thank you to the Scranton Area’s previous Area Co-Chairs, Dave and Ann Hawk and the Hawk Family Foundation, for funding this project.
