On Thursday September 14th, members of the New York City Area joined together for The Solemn Vespers and Benediction at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral with Very Rev. Enrique Salvo, ChM. They celebrated this ancient feast, commemorating three events; the finding of the True Cross by St. Helena, the dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in AD 337, and the restoration of the True Cross to Jerusalem in AD 629 by Emperor Heraclius after it had fallen into the hands of the Persian Emperor in the Sassanian conquest of Jerusalem.
