On September 29th and 3th, the Board of Malteser International Americas met in Cologne, Germany for an extraordinary Board Meeting encompassing a strategic review of its mission and projects; a joint meeting with the Board of Malteser International, and to join in the celebration of Malteser Germany’s (Malteser Hilfsdienst Deutschland) 70th Anniversary.

All 6 members of the Board from the American Association were able to attend as well as 3 Federal Association Directors and 2 from the Western Association.  The meetings concluded with a Mass at the Cologne Cathedral, followed by a dinner for over 1,000 Employees and Volunteers of MI worldwide.

Not only was the meeting productive, but it provided our Board an opportunity to meet the Grand Hospitaller, our European and German colleagues and to inform them all of the growth achieved by MIA in the last several years. Importantly, MIA was just awarded a $7.8 million contract from the U. S. Government for continuation of our projects in Colombia.
