Thanks to the generosity of many members of the Order of Malta in the three U.S. Associations, more than $250,000 was raised to help the needy victims of last fall’s fires on Maui.  The Order of Malta Worldwide Relief Americas  (Malteser International Americas), in partnership with the local diocese and several parishes on Maui, assessed the needs on the ground and coordinated the effort  to  distribute $1,000 and $250 gift cards from  COSTCO to almost 4,000 individuals or families displaced by the Maui fires.  Thankfully, many of those most in need received a little financial support in time for Christmas!  To learn more about this significant Order of Malta collaborative relief effort in our own country, please click here to read a letter from John McInerney, President of Order of Malta Worldwide Relief America (Malteser International Americas).
