The Circus was back in town! On Saturday, September 28th , 25 NYC Area Members, Affiliates and Friends brought the fun and excitement of the Circus to the children and young adults of ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Hospital. The Big Top had festive decorations, circus animal balloons, banners galore and Cookie the Elephant! The lively music of the Squeaky Clean Band — a longtime MCH Favorite — entertained the residents, their families, MCH staff and our volunteers, as did the antics of Glenn the Clown.   

During the Circus, the residents and their volunteer partners paraded, danced and played with musical instruments, bubble guns and a variety of props. The residents were also able to participate in fun group games such as Musical Wheelchairs and Beach Ball Hot Potato. Smiles and joy abounded and it was a blessing for the NYC Area to share Circus fun with these beautiful children of God.

Mother Cabrini Hospital is located at Terence Cardinal Cooke HealthCare Center in East Harlem and is home to children and young adults with serious developmental disabilities and other extraordinary medical needs. The NYC Area has a number of upcoming events at the Hospital, including Disney-themed and Christmas Sing-alongs and Holiday dinners for the residents and their families.

Volunteer opportunities are also available to work with the children and Recreational Therapists in therapy classes throughout the week.
