NYC Area Holds Flu Vaccination Clinic at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church

10/16/2024

On Wednesday, October 9, the NYC Area, in partnership with Malteser International Americas, conducted its annual Flu Vaccination Clinic at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. At the clinic, our nurse vaccinators administered flu shots to approximately 40 guests, a record number at this clinic.

The clinic coincided with the lunch service provided to midtown homeless and underserved individuals by the Ecumenical Outreach Partnership (a collaborative ministry of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and St. Thomas Church). The NYC Area also provided guests with gift bags, which included winter hats, socks, and gloves, as well as a Dunkin’ gift card.

Funding for this year’s Flu Vaccination Clinics was provided by the St. John Committee through its inaugural Spring Knights’ fundraiser in April. We express our deep gratitude to the St. John Committee for this support and wish it much success in its upcoming White Cross Ball of New York City, which will take place on Friday, November 8, supporting the global works of the Order.

The Flu Vaccination Clinics are conducted annually by the NYC Area and our members feel blessed to be able to provide this health service to vulnerable members of the community, advancing the Order’s mission of ministering to the poor and the sick.
