On Saturday, December 7th, local Knights and Dames in the Philadelphia Area welcomed Father Matthew Brody, Magistral Chaplain of the Order of Malta, to Ivy Hall in Overbrook. Fr. Brody gave a moving and powerful presentation about hope, using excerpts from Papal Encyclicals and from Scripture to enjoin all those gathered to consider this season of hope in light. This is especially timely, as the Holy Father declared that the forthcoming Holy Year, 2025, will be a Year of Hope.
After Fr. Brody’s presentation, there was an opportunity for Confessions, followed by Holy Mass, and a luncheon with much conviviality and joy. A small group of Knights and Dames showed up early so that we could maintain continuity of our ongoing service project, making meals for shut-ins. We were pleased to gather and prepare to celebrate the birth of Our Blessed Lord, and prepare our hearts to welcome our Beloved Savior!
