Beginning the day in prayer, Northeast Florida Area members attended Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The beautiful stained glass windows always inspire us, as does the homily and Mass at our downtown Basilica. Breakfast at Maple Street Cafe is a treat and wonderful way to catch up. Chopping and cooking began early in the morning. Our team was so efficient that we were able to prepare lunch and then work on meals for the upcoming week. It was a privilege to serve lunch and drinks to the residents of Sulzbacher Center in downtown Jacksonville. The homeless people living on the street were also fed and given drinks to replenish themselves as the heat continues to increase in Florida.
