On Saturday, June 21st, Cleveland Area Members and Members-in-Formation, along with many prospective members, came together to celebrate the Feast of St. John the Baptist with a beautiful and joyful Mass & reception. Hosted by Thom and Niki McGowan, the evening began with Holy Mass con-celebrated by our Area Chaplain Rev. John Valencheck and Rev. Phil Bernier, OFM Cap. They were assisted by Deacon Matthew Lawler, who is a Deacon at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Cleveland.

It was a wonderful evening of prayer and fellowship, reinforcing the Order of Malta’s shared mission of serving the poor and the sick while honoring our Patron, St. John the Baptist. After Mass, guests shared a bountiful spread of delicious food, drink, and fellowship. The Members of our area were able to share their stories from Lourdes, Champion, and other spiritual retreats, along with information on our current service projects: Malta Walks, Zelie’s Home and Prison Ministry.
