On Wednesday, November 19, members of the NYC Area, Auxiliary, and friends gathered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the first winter edition of Malta Walks. After joining together in the Daily Prayer of the Order, volunteers prepared 40 “Malta bags” filled with warm socks, gloves, and hats, along with toiletries, granola bars, sandwiches, and bananas.
With the holiday spirit in the air, the group set out toward Grand Central Terminal, passing the newly illuminated skyscrapers of Midtown Manhattan. Along the way, they shared these bags—and heartfelt conversations—with the sick and poor on the city streets, bringing comfort and kindness during the cold season.
