The Prelate of the Order Celebrates Mass for Residents of Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center

11/20/2025

Each Sunday, NYC Area Members, Affiliates, and Volunteers assist at the 10:15 a.m. Mass at ArchCare’s Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center, helping transport residents to and from the auditorium, praying with them, and sharing fellowship.

On Sunday, November 16, we were honored to welcome the Prelate of the Order, Msgr. Luis Cuña Ramos, who celebrated Mass alongside Fr. John Anderson, Vice President of Mission Integration for ArchCare. More than 75 residents attended this special liturgy.

In his homily, Msgr. Cuña Ramos reminded us that the day marked the World Day of the Poor, urging members of the Order to treat every day as a “Day of the Poor” in living out our mission. The Mass was joyful and spirited, with residents breaking into applause after each hymn, prayer, and musical selection. Spanish-speaking residents expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Prelate’s warm words and prayers delivered in his native Spanish.

Following Mass, ArchCare CEO Scott LaRue, KM, and Trustees Rory Kelleher, GCMOb, and Steve Bujno, KM led a tour of TCC for the Prelate; Fra’ Nicola Tegoni, Member of the Sovereign Council; and American Association President Ken Craig, GCM. The tour included a visit to the Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital for Children and concluded at the newly opened PACE Center.

PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) provides at-home care for seniors who require nursing home-level support but wish to remain in their homes. The PACE Center serves as a hub, offering a medical clinic and community amenities such as a movie theater, library, beauty salon, and a 1950s-style diner—where a reception was held for the Prelate and volunteers.

The NYC Area extends its deepest gratitude to Msgr. Cuña Ramos for celebrating Mass and visiting with TCC residents and volunteers.
