On Wednesday, December 17, Santa and his Elf (and the NYC Area) were back at Terence Cardinal Cooke HealthCare Center, bringing Christmas magic and cheer to the children, young adults, and other residents of Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital. After the residents were serenaded with Christmas tunes by the live entertainment, Old Saint Nick made his grand appearance, accompanied by his trusty Elf, Christian. Santa greeted each of the residents, who were brought up one by one in their wheelchairs to receive a Jellycat or other plush toy from Santa and his Elf, and to take a photo with this North Pole duo. NYC Area members and volunteers assisted with transporting the residents to/from the Auditorium and socialized with the residents throughout the party.
At the conclusion of the Auditorium event, Santa and our volunteers visited the Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital floors, to bring gifts and Christmas cheer to the remaining residents in their rooms. Smiles and wonder were in abundance throughout the event. Santa will make a return appearance to MCH in a few days, to deliver more gifts to the children, including the gifts that were donated at our recent Toys Drives held at Joanne Trattoria and Dive 75 Bars.
