The Vero Beach Area gathered March 19–20 for a mini-retreat with Fr. David Caron. Despite the stormy weather, the retreat opened at Holy Cross Church with a reflection on “Lent: Connecting in a Disconnected World,” inviting a deeper relationship with God and one another.
On Friday morning, Fr. Caron concelebrated Mass, with Deacon Wayne serving as deacon. After Mass, Fr. Caron continued to guide us spiritually with his talk, “Lent: Refrain from Hurtful Words,” encouraging compassionate, mindful speech and a renewed commitment to living our faith daily.
Living out this call to service, participants assembled 100 hygiene kits for Mercy Center, embodying the Lenten spirit of charity and care for those in need.
This service project was made possible by the generosity and dedication of many — Rafael, organizers Kathy and John, our Hospitallers Bonnie and Richard, our volunteers and Jeff for capturing the moments. Special thanks as well to Rafael, Kathy, John, Barbara, and Robert for delivering the hygiene kits.
This annual event, held for over 21 years, concluded Friday evening as about 35 people gathered for a reception and dinner.
