Activities Members Are Involved In |
1) On a rotational basis, every Friday morning an Area member(s) drives to Au Bon Pain Bakery located in the Empire State Plaza to pick up donated bakery products and take them to the Sister Maureen Joyce Center (SMJC) Food Pantry where they are given to individuals served by the Center. From arrival at the Bakery to delivery of products to the Food pantry, the activity takes about one and a half hours. The overall time commitment is up to an additional one and one half hours, depending on the distance the volunteer has to travel. 2) About six times a year, an Area member purchases from Area charitable funds and delivers to the SMJC Food Pantry toilet paper to be given to individuals served by the Pantry. The time commitment is approximately 2 and one-half hours each time. |
