On Wednesday, December 30, the Missouri Area’s Order of Malta Mobile Ministries Van made its first run in support of the Criminal Justice Ministry (CJM). CJM offers solace to those in prison, supports released convicts in their re-entry into society, and offers training and resources to people preparing for legitimate employment.

CJM finds apartments for released convicts, and those apartments must be furnished. Members volunteering with Missouri Area’s Mobile Ministries assisted in this effort by gathering furniture from a donor and a St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store and delivering it to the apartment that will soon be home to a man starting a new life. Because of this, CJM will be able to redirect funds that might have been spent on a rental van to its valuable programs.
