Michigan Area members took a prominent part in the Archdiocese of Detroit’s June 11th Corpus Christi celebration, with 23 Dames, Knights, and Auxiliaries participating.
“This is a nice day for us to give thanks for this Sacrament – a special, privileged heritage, particularly this year as we begin the parish phase of our Eucharistic revival here in the United States,” said Archbishop Allen Vigneron, ChC, who celebrated Mass at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. He added, “Let us resolve always to treasure the Most Holy Eucharist, that we would rather die than give up this opportunity to celebrate this life-giving manna.”
Taking up the gifts at Mass were Barbara Wilson, DM, Robert Wilson, KM, Dr. Daniel Frattarelli, KM, and Tracy Frattarelli, DM. The Cathedral Children’s Choir, which includes two children of Andrea and Andy Smith, KM, sang at the Mass.
Mass was followed by a procession along Woodward Avenue, with Archbishop Vigneron carrying the Eucharist. Michigan Area members walked in the procession, as did members of the Knights and Ladies of St. Peter Claver and the Knights of Columbus.
