On Monday June 3, the NYC Area held its First Monday Mass at the Lady Chapel of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We were blessed to have the Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend Paul Sanchez, ChC and concelebrated by the Very Reverend Enrique Salvo, ChM, Rector of the Cathedral.

During his sermon, Bishop Sanchez discussed the reading from the second letter of Saint Peter, which was addressed to those in the early Church struggling with their faith. The letter urged them to supplement their faith with virtue, knowledge, and self-control. Since it was the feast day of St. Charles Lwanga and his fellow African martyrs, Bishop Sanchez also tied that reading and the gospel of the parable of the vineyard owner whose servants and son were killed by the vineyard tenants to the feast day. He exhorted members of the Order to follow their example and be steadfast in our faith and good works.
