Members of the South West Connecticut Area traveled to New York City for the 2024 Investiture Weekend, where they joyfully welcomed twelve new members into the Order.
On the evening of Thursday, November 14th, local members gathered at the esteemed Cornell Club for a heartwarming Investiture Eve celebration. The dinner followed a beautiful Mass celebrated by Msgr. Robert Ritchie, Chief Chaplain, which included the blessing of our new members’ capes and robes. We celebrated and welcomed our twelve new members and their dedicated sponsors, captured in the photos above. The evening was filled with laughter, gratitude and a profound appreciation for the mission of our great Order that we are all called to serve.
On Friday, November 15th, twelve South West Connecticut Area members of the Class of 2024 were officially invested into the Order of Malta at a beautiful Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, celebrated by H.E. Timothy Cardinal Dolan. The solemn Investiture ceremony featured angelic music from Dana Surena-Mattson, DM and the choir at St. Patrick’s, along with a wonderful homily given by The Most Reverend William Byrne, Bishop of Springfield, Massachusetts. Following the Investiture, over 450 guests attended a lovely dinner at Cipriani’s that featured wonderful awards and a powerful talk from Cardinal Dolan.
