On Monday, November 18, members of the New Jersey Area gathered at the Chapel of Our Lady of Grace in the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark, for Evening Prayer for the Vigil of the Feast of All Saints of the Order of Malta. This service was presided by Fr. Bismarck Chau, ChM, Rector of the Cathedral, and Knights and Dames were joined by Fr. Alex Nevitt, ChD, and Fr. David Skoblow, ChM.
Fr. Chau reflected on the First Reading from Sunday’s Mass from the day before (“But the wise shall shine brightly like the splendor of the firmament, and those who lead the many to justice shall be like the stars forever.”~Daniel 12:3) and preached how we have Saints in our Order that we can look up to and how we should grow in our faith so we can become like the stars in the sky that were mentioned in Daniel.
After Evening Prayer, there was a period of silent Adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament followed by Benediction. Dinner was served afterwards in the Rectory.
This was a wonderful opportunity for Knights and Dames to experience praying the Liturgy of the Hours and spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament together in community.
Blessed Gerard and all Saints of our Order, pray for us!
