On Friday, February 21st, Cece Donoghue was volunteering at New Covenant Center and noticed how empty the shelves were. The South West Connecticut Area immediately jumped into action. Some Knights and Dames delivered groceries the next day, a team immediately coordinated a Food Drive within a week that filled up a large food van and pick-up truck, and volunteers set up satellite drop-off locations in seven towns. Additionally, an online giving appeal was initiated that has raised over $7,100, all within a week! The deliveries have been daily, the response immediate, and the compassion demonstrated warms our hearts in this cold February.
