On Tuesday, March 31st, Knights and Dames were invited by the Most Reverend Paul Gregory Bootkoski, ChC, Bishop Emeritus of the Metuchen Diocese to attend the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi. Priests representing parishes throughout the Diocese participated in the Mass, including Fr. David Skoblow, ChM.
A beautiful Introductory Prayer featured in the Chrism Mass Program highlighted the sanctity of this annual liturgical celebration during Holy Week: “Let us pray, dear brothers and sisters, to God the Almighty Father, that he bless and sanctify this oil, so that all who are outwardly anointed with it may be inwardly transformed and come to share in eternal salvation.”
