St. John Committee Hosts Spring Knights Fundraiser for NYC Area Service Works

05/01/2026

On Friday, April 24th, the New York City Area’s St. John Committee held their annual Spring Knights cocktail fundraiser at Dear Irving on Broadway. The sold-out evening supported the Order’s service works in New York City serving the most vulnerable among us. First held in 2024, Spring Knights has helped fund the launch of the NYC Area’s Mobile Ministry, flu vaccination clinics and care packages, toys for the the residents with extraordinary medical needs at Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital for Children, and recreational programs for the residents at Mary Manning Walsh and Terence Cardinal Cooke, many of whom are battling Alzheimer’s, AIDS, and Huntington’s.

Guests enjoyed music by DJ Nick Scalici and illustrations by artist Deanna First, as well as a silent auction made possible through the generosity of Alena Kostromina, James Palazza, Glenelly, Grand Palladium Hotels, Dan Hurwitz, Joanne Trattoria, Melba’s, Saks, SLT, PVOLVE, and Phish.

The St. John Committee was humbled to honor The Very Rev. Enrique Salvo, ChM, Assistant Principal Chaplain, Order of Malta, American Association and Rector, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. Following special remarks by Fr. Salvo and St. John Committee chairs Mercedes de Guardiola, DM and Luisa Majnoni d’Intignano di Poggio Baldovinetti Lee, guests heard from Adriana Grecco, Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteer Services at ArchCare at Terence Cardinal Cooke Healthcare Center, on the Order’s work for Mother Cabrini residents.

The Committee’s benefit, the White Cross Ball of New York City, will be held on November 6, 2026. To inquire about tickets, tables, and sponsor opportunities for the Ball, as well as about joining the Committee, please email info@stjohncommittee.org or visit stjohncommittee.org.
