Description

The Lackawanna County Prison is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. After a major renovation and expansion was completed in 1999, the prison holds 1,200 prisoners. The prison houses male and female pre-trial detainees and sentenced inmates less than five years. Members lead weekly 90- minute writing and discussion groups for women. Father Ruth and Anthony Pamela, prison volunteer, have agreed to encourage devotion to the rosary. This was in the beginning stages when the pandemic occurred. Neither of them are in the Order of Malta but were open to the project. We are just getting started.
