NYC and Westchester Areas Celebrate St. John

06/28/2018

On Monday, June 25th, more than 90 members of the NYC and Westchester Areas, along with candidates in formation, Auxiliary members and guests gathered for Mass in honor of the Order of Malta’s patron saint, St. John the Baptist. Mass was celebrated in the chapel at the Mary Manning Walsh Residence, where a number of the NYC Area’s members volunteer on a regular basis.

Our celebrant and homilist was Msgr. Robert Ritchie, Assistant Principal Chaplain of the American Association, and he was joined on the altar by NYC Area chaplains Msgr. Douglas Mathers, Fr. Joseph Cavoto, and Fr. Gerald Murray.  Also concelebrating  Mass was Fr. John Anderson, head of pastoral care for ArchCare and the operator of the Mary Manning Walsh Residence and the Terence Cardinal Cooke Healthcare Center.  Deacon John Powers, KM, assisted.

Following the Mass, all were treated to a lovely reception hosted by Scott LaRue, KM, the CEO of ArchCare. We are grateful to Scott and ArchCare for their hospitality.
