On September 13th, members from the Northeast Area visited the elderly residents of Harbor Chase of Mandarin, a facility that offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, respite care and adult day care services. Their visit was a success, and made even better with the addition of their “rock star” therapy dog named Abby. Knights, Dames, and Abby brought gifts to the residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care and Independent Living- roses for the women and sugarless candy for the men.

Abby was a magnet for the residents, especially those in Memory Care. She brought smiles and joy to the facility and everyone that she encountered! One resident who has a great deal of difficulty communicating because of a stroke was overjoyed when petting Abby. Members also visited with the residents who wanted someone to talk to for a longer period of time.
