Celebrate Palm Sunday From Home

04/03/2020

This Sunday, April 5th, we will celebrate Palm Sunday in a uniquely new way, at home, but still together.

Virtual Palms

While we cannot gather together in person to celebrate Palm Sunday this year, we are happy to share a “virtual” palm with you. Click here to download and print your own virtual palm.

A Bouquet of Greenery

We encourage you to place a live branch or a bouquet of herbs tied together somewhere in the front of your house (front door, balcony, window, gate, fence, garage door, etc.) on Palm Sunday.

In remembrance of the palms used to make a path for Jesus to enter Jerusalem, the branches or bouquet could be a symbol of our openness to Christ coming into our lives. While we are not physically with our family and friends at Church, this small gesture will remind us of the world beyond our doors where people are suffering, and will focus us on the start of Holy Week.

Given the circumstances, the branch or bouquet may not even be seen by others because of the lack of outdoor mobility; it is a sign of solidarity with our confreres in the Association and a reminder to ourselves of our fellowship with the world in this time of the pandemic.

Don’t forget to check out our Daily Masses Online post for a listing of Holy Week services that will be televised online and TV.
