Eastern Connecticut Area’s Monday Order of Malta Meal

The Eastern Connecticut Area was hit by a top five Nor’easter over the weekend. New London was the bullseye, with 24 inches of fluffy snow which blew into much deeper drifts.

Despite these conditions, roads were cleared by Monday, January 31st, fortunately for local Area members to serve our 5th Monday Order of Malta meal at the Community Center.

Previous Area Co-Chairs, Dr. Robert and Susan Staab, provided a fantastic recipe for chicken thighs and several vegetables, which were cooked at Christ the King Church in Old Lyme.

Hot meals with fruit and granola bars were served to 150 clients in the center dining area for takeout and in-shelter delivery. They were extremely grateful for their wonderful huge warm meal and tremendous care with temperatures nearing 0 degrees overnight.
