A glorious spring day embraced the Northeast Florida Area’s 2022 Lenten Bambino Camino on Saturday, March 28th.  

Over 100 pilgrims began the morning at the St. Augustine lighthouse and walked up A1A, across the Bridge of Lions, and on to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. After a brief tour of the Cathedral, off the pilgrims went again up St. George Street through the old city, across to the grounds of Castillo de San Marcos Spanish fort, and proceeding along Water Street to the Great Cross at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche.  

Holy Mass was offered at the outdoor Rustic Altar by Event Chaplain Fr. Briggs Hurley, who accompanied us the entire journey.

Also along the way of the Bambino Camino was our Order of Malta Golden Pilgrim Rose, carried on pilgrimage by Susann Engel, DM, and placed at the Altar for Mass.  

It was a delightful Lenten devotional event between the Feast of the Annunciation and Laetare Sunday!
