New Jersey Area Members Visit San Jose Clinic in Guatemala

07/20/2022

The San Jose Clinic, in Pastores, Guatemala, was built in 2011 and donated to From Houses to Homes (FHTH), a registered New Jersey 501(c) 3, which was established in 2004 and has built 1,800 homes in 12 highland communities surrounding Antigua, Guatemala. The Clinic meets the medical and dental needs of poor rural families who have been recipients of new concrete block homes built by volunteers of From Houses to Homes (FHTH) and other members of the local community.

From its founding, FHTH has been promoted and generously supported by many members of the New Jersey Area. On average, the clinic treats 300 people a month.

In 2021, San Jose Clinic was transferred from FHTH to the Guatemalan Association of the Order of Malta, under whose care it has continued to grow and thrive.

In June of this year, Suzy Moran, DMOb, Msgr. William J. Fadrowski, ChM, and Sheila Brown, DMOb had the opportunity to visit the Clinic and meet with Enrique Hegel, KM, President of the Guatemalan Association of the Order of Malta and his wife, Lourdes.
