Michigan Area Celebrates Feast of Our Lady of Philermo

On Sunday, September 11th, the Michigan Area joined together with members of the Maltese community to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Philermo and Our Lady of Victory at Most Holy Trinity Church in Detroit.

Our Lady of Victory protected the island of Malta on September 8, 1565, when the Turkish forces left Malta and on September 8, 1943, when the Italian & German forces in World War II lifted their siege of the island.

A total of 14 Knights & Dames attended Mass and processed around the church following the blessing of the Our Lady of Victory statue that was created in Malta several years ago. The Maltese community was very appreciative of our members attendance again this year.
