A Survivor Earns Her Forever Home!

03/24/2023

It seems fitting that over St. Patrick’s Day weekend Sunflower, a survivor of human trafficking like St. Patrick, was moved into her forever home after a long journey of hard work. CT Area Order of Malta Members were there not only to celebrate and accompany her on this momentous and special day but also rolled up their sleeves and moved Sunflower into her new home!

Sunflower shouted as she entered her new apartment “I have a hallway!” Her joy was overwhelming for all as she showed everyone her very own safe home. Sunflower has worked hard for two years to get to this point. Thanks to the Partnership to End Human Trafficking ( PEHT.org ) she had the support, encouragement, and love she needed to get to this place in her life. It takes a village and on the move-in day, it took 5 Knights and an Auxiliary Member from the Order of Malta to help make her dream come true!

St. Patrick escaped his captors and went on to change the world….perhaps Sunflower will too!
