Hi Malta Camp Family and Friends,

Welcome to the first of many Malta Camp quarterly updates. As many of you know, Malta Camp is so much more than a week – it is about the community we build! And to keep that community strong, we have reunion events every few months to bring as many of our camp family members together as possible. This fall, we had 2 reunion events, one in-person in Boston and a second virtual Halloween party.

In mid-October, about 25 people joined us for an afternoon of fall activities. Volunteers came from across the country, with several flying in a few days early to help set up for our afternoon of festivities. Together our group decorated pumpkins, jumped on a moon bounce, and enjoyed lunch. We FaceTimed Guests and volunteers from across the country, passing phones around for everyone to say hi. At a scrapbooking station, everyone made posters and cards filled with pictures of their favorite camp memories surrounded by fun stickers. It was a day filled with lots of hugs, a few happy tears, and the infectious joy that overwhelms the room every time this group gets together!Then on Saturday, October 29, we hosted a virtual Halloween party! After lots of excited hellos and time for people to show off their costumes, it was time for a dance break. We danced along to classic Halloween songs and some popular camp favorites. It was so much fun catching up with friends we hadn’t seen in a while and getting to see the full group together. We discussed our favorite Halloween movies and favorite candies before taking on a group challenge. Working together, we solved a puzzle to reveal the location and dates for Malta Camp USA 2024… drum roll please… next year we will be heading back to Siena College for Malta Camp from June 23-28. After a few more dances, we said our goodbyes, all excited for our next reunion!
