Members with several recent Affiliates and guests gathered together for our Eastern CT Area Lenten event at St. Ann Melkite Church in Waterford CT. 

Bishop Emeritus Peter, ChC and Rev.. Joe from the Diocese of Hartford joined us and concelebrated the beautiful Eastern Liturgy of St. Basil with Pastor Fr. McCarthy.  Father spoke about his exceptional life journey from military service in Lebanon to his wonderful reflection on his Melkite Church. Bishop Emeritus blessed the Anniversary pins and certificates for the Hospitaller Bob’s 15th Jubilee and for our very special Knight Emeritus Dr. Keefe’s 30th Jubilee with his son Don.  

The new Area Grant Chairman Jenn announced that the first 5 grants were approved and the new Treasurer Jeff provided an update on the Area finances. The Membership Director Gina spoke on the current status of the Area Prison Ministry and the candidate application dates for 2025 Investiture. Hospitaller Bob will provide intention slips for him to deposit at Our Lady’s Grotto on his Lourdes Pilgrimage this year; he took over 600 in 2023.

The Area Chair thanked the Lebanese parishioners for preparing and serving a delectable Lenten Lebanese vegetarian and desserts buffet for us. Thanks again to Subdeacon Paul, Investiture 2024, for hosting this unique occasion and to Fr. McCarthy for sharing his spiritual wisdom and impressive Faith Community.
