Northeast Florida Area Members Serve Poor in Jacksonville

08/08/2024

The Northeast Florida Area had another splendid day dedicated to worship, fellowship, and serving the poor of downtown Jacksonville. The morning began with Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. This exquisite church is one of the oldest in the Jacksonville area and always enthralls us with its beautiful stained glass windows and architecture. Breakfast was fun at Maple Street Biscuit Company, where laughter and conversation were enjoyed by all.

A delicious and hardy lunch was prepared and served to the homeless at Sulzbacher Center last weekend. Our crew was hard at work prepping, chopping, mixing, cooking and serving meals to the many people who live in the Sulzbacher Center and on the streets. Our industrious team was also able to help prepare for the upcoming week. This advance work assists the kitchen staff with their heavy weekday workload when fewer volunteers are available to help. As always, it was a gift for all of us to see the face of Christ in all those we encounter.
