Members of the New York City Area, family, and friends gathered on Sunday, December 12th to bring Christmas cheer to about 50 residents of the Terence Cardinal Cooke Healthcare Center. For many of the residents, this Christmas party was their first encounter with individuals other than TCC staff since the COVID-19 pandemic started.
The NYC Area’s team of volunteers served cookies, cake, and beverages to party guests as they were entertained by Christmas music and awaited the arrival of Santa.
Earlier in the day, local members wrapped gifts for about 100 residents. Santa (thanks to volunteer Jason Thomas for dressing up as Santa) and his helpers distributed gift bags to the 50 guests attending the party; and, arrangements were made to distribute the remaining gifts to residents who were unable to attend due to COVID limitations.
Another highlight of Sunday’s party was the mini-reunion of a 2019 Lourdes pod: Zoe Nguyen (M), Thu Nguyen (CG), Zoe’s twin sister, and Maggie Ludwiczak, DM, host of Zoe’s pod.
